US 19 over the Cross Florida Barge Canal, FDOT D-7

C&G recently completed this Design Build project for District 7 that included the reconstruction of US 19 over the Cross Florida Barge Canal and Greenways Trail. This project includes the construction of new twin bridges to expand the safety and capacity of US 19/US 98/SR 55 in Citrus County and consisted of a post-tensioned three span (285 foot main span) spliced girder bridge. Cost $37 million, completed 2011


DIXIE HIGHWAY FLYOVER, FDOT D-4

This ARRA Design Build included the construction of a 1,400 LF steel tub girder bridge, a 213 LF ramp access bridge, and a 200 LF pedestrian bridge. In addition to the bridge construction, the project included earthwork, grading, paving, signs, signals lighting, and striping. Cost $32 million, completed 2012


BIG JOHN MONAHAN BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Increase capacity, improve safety along SR 710 and replacement of the 1,400??bridge over St. Lucie Canal. Cost savings provided by reduced bridge length through static acquisition of roadway that save FDOT $10 million. Cost $24 million, completion date January 2014.


SUNCOAST PARKWAY INTERCHANGE AT LUTZ LAKE FERN ROAD, FTE

This Design Build interchange project included a completion deadline to accommodate the opening of the newly construction George Steinbrenner High School in Hillsborough County. The C&G team effectively managed the design and construction of the project to ensure a timely opening of the ramps prior to the first day of classes. Cost $13.5 million, completed 2009.


I-75 at SR 780, FRUITVILLE ROAD AND UNIVERSITY PARKWAY

This I-75 Design Build interchange capacity project included the Fruitville Road and University Parkway interchanges in Sarasota County. Interchange ramps were widened to accommodate additional turn lanes and storage, and other ramps were milled and resurfaced. The project included new mast arms, three light overhead sign trusses and improvement to the existing high mast lighting system. Cost $3.4 million, completed 2010.


US 301 WIDENING FROM MYRTLE STREET TO DeSOTO ROAD, FDOT

This Design Build ARRA project included the design and phased reconstruction of approximately one mile of US 301 from a four lane urban roadway to a new six lane urban roadway. The lighting, signals, drainage and lateral drainage ditch improvements were constructed in a heavily travelled corridor in Polk County. Cost $8.4 million, completed 2012.


UPPER TAMPA BAY TRAIL UNDERPASS AT WATERS AVENUE, FDOT

C&G completed this fast-track Design Build pedestrian trail project for FDOT District 7. This portion of the Upper Tampa Bay Trail in Northwest Hillsborough County provided continuity under the Waters Avenue Bridge at Channel A. Cost $1.2 million, completed 2003.


US 41/SR 45 AND SR 72 @ GANTT ROAD, SARASOTA COUNTY, FDOT

Design Build for District 1, intersection improvements and new signals, two intersections. Cost $1.2 million, completed 2012

First of its kind in Florida, with sensors embedded in at-speed outside lane of I-95. Facility included concrete pavement and new I-95 on/off ramps. This project received a FICE Honor Award. Cost $14 million, completed 2011
