Cone & Graham Inc. is honored to be awarded the contract for Phase II of the Ridge Road Extension, a transformative project aimed at improving connectivity and creating vital infrastructure for Pasco County. Approved by the Pasco County Commission earlier this month, this $85 million contract will extend Ridge Road by an additional 3.75 miles from N. Sunlake Boulevard to Land O’ Lakes Boulevard (U.S. 41), with a projected completion in fall 2026.
As highlighted by Tampa Beacon, this extension is not only a road project but a long-awaited development that provides an essential east-west route through Pasco County, enhancing accessibility and supporting the region’s growth.
Project Details and Community Benefits
Phase II of the Ridge Road Extension will extend the existing four-lane divided highway and establish a new intersection at Land O’ Lakes Boulevard and Connerton Boulevard. Cone & Graham’s construction will also include:
In addition to these enhancements, the project will feature a new bridge over the CSX railway that parallels U.S. 41, along with a 24-inch water main and a 20-inch reclaimed water main to support local infrastructure.
Supporting Regional Growth and Safety
Once complete, this extension will greatly improve east-west travel through Pasco County, adding a crucial hurricane evacuation route for the area. The expanded route will provide enhanced access to the Speros FL Moffitt Cancer Center, a large medical city development located just off the Suncoast Parkway, which began construction in January 2023.
This project is funded through a combination of sources, including the Mobility Fees Central Road/SIS Fund, TXIF-Transportation CIP Fund, and several Research Park Grant Reimbursement Funds, along with additional contributions from transportation and utility funds.
Cone & Graham Inc. is proud to contribute to the Ridge Road Extension and to be part of a project that brings lasting benefits to the community. With our expertise and commitment to quality, we’re dedicated to delivering infrastructure that supports safety, growth, and improved connectivity for the people of Pasco County.
