Cone & Graham Inc. is proud to be part of the continued efforts to enhance Pasco County’s infrastructure, with our team set to resume work on the State Road 54 (SR 54) widening project. This project, highlighted by Tampa Bay Times, is one of three significant Pasco County undertakings designed to improve traffic flow and connectivity, alongside the SR 56 and SR 52 upgrades.
The SR 54 project covers 4.2 miles, transforming the route from Curley Road to Morris Bridge Road. Originally started in late 2017, the project had encountered delays but is now moving forward. As part of the $42.5 million investment, our work will help create a wider, more efficient roadway, benefitting local communities and reducing travel time for residents and commuters alike.
Building on a Legacy of Successful Projects in Pasco
Cone & Graham Inc. has a strong record of delivering major projects in Pasco County, including the Ridge Road improvements and the extension of State Road 56, both of which have been instrumental in supporting local growth and easing traffic congestion. FDOT’s David Gwynn acknowledged our commitment to quality and timely delivery, expressing confidence in Cone & Graham’s ability to complete this latest phase on SR 54.
A Commitment to Community-Focused Infrastructure
With several other projects underway in Pasco, including the innovative “diverging diamond” interchange at SR 56 and I-75 and the widening of SR 52, Pasco County is prioritizing infrastructure that supports both growth and safety. The diverging diamond, a new traffic concept in the area, will help reduce vehicle delays and improve pedestrian safety. In addition to SR 54, Cone & Graham is proud to be part of the progress bringing these innovative designs to life.
Continued Momentum and Accountability
We’re committed to keeping momentum on SR 54, which will help alleviate congestion and serve the county’s transportation needs. Our team is prepared to tackle this next phase with a renewed focus on quality and efficiency, ensuring the project moves forward smoothly and meets FDOT’s expectations.
