City of Pompano Beach – 9th Avenue Bridge

City of Pompano Beach – 9th Avenue Bridge

Pompano Beach, FL

Overview
Cone and Graham, Inc. completed this Bridge for the City of Pompano Beach. The project was completely demolished and reconstructed not only for safety purposes, but also columns, lighting and drainage improvements. The original 70-year-old 2 lane structure was removed in phases allowing full access to the Island during construction. Cone & Graham purchased a portable stop light system for the one lane traffic. The system was monitored daily via an “APP” that was tied to the company’s Apple iPhones. The system was solar power and worked extremely well. A side walk was added to connect this project to the remaining projects to the south. Excellent communication between the city engineers and the neighbors kept this project moving along with the exception of FPL and an 8-month delay on their part. The project bridge schedule was completed on time.
