Overview

Cone & Graham, Inc. was responsible for the design and construction of all bridge and structural elements for the widening of I-95 in Saint Lucie County. The project added two additional inside lanes in each direction along a 9-mile stretch of I-95, from 4400 feet south of SR-70 (Okeechobee Road) to just south of SR-614 (Indrio Road). The project included significant upgrades to the I-95 ramps at both the SR-70 and SR-614 interchanges, as well as the widening of SR-68 (Orange Avenue).

Key structural improvements included the widening of bridges over SR-70, Angle Road, and Belcher Canal, and the complete removal and replacement of the I-95 bridge over Kings Highway. The scope of work also included installing and modifying guardrails, end anchorages, barrier walls, attenuators, retaining walls, drainage structures, pavement markings, signage, sound barriers, signalization, and roadway lighting.

These improvements have greatly enhanced traffic flow and safety along this critical segment of I-95, which serves as a major transportation artery for Florida’s east coast.
