SR 786 (PGA Boulevard) Reconstruction from SR 710 (Beeline Highway) To The C-18 Canal

SR 786 (PGA Boulevard) Reconstruction from SR 710 (Beeline Highway) To The C-18 Canal

West Palm Beach County, FL

Overview
This high-visibility project combines necessary roadway improvements with significant environmental sensitivity and wetlands expertise. The centerline grade was raised to alleviate roadway flooding, re-establish hydrologic connections associated with the Loxahatchee Slough and Grassy Waters Preserve, and provide wetland mitigation for impacts to federally protected species. Reconstruction reduced the total wetland impacts by one acre, improved wildlife passage under PGA Boulevard, reduced maintenance and project costs, and shortened the original construction schedule. The new bridge allows wildlife and recreational boaters to pass beneath while maintaining the waterway opening and a wildlife path adjacent to the channel. Its lower profile reduced environmental impact and increased durability.
